Nelson named CEO of Platinum Crush

Jay Nelson, an ag industry professional with over 30 years of experience, has been named the new CEO of Platinum Crush, LLC, effective April 11, 2026. 

Prior to being named CEO, Nelson had been with Platinum Crush for 3 years as the Director of Trading and Risk Management. Before joining Platinum Crush, Nelson began his career with Archer Daniels Midland, where he specialized in trading, transportation, and risk-management tactics in both domestic and export markets. He also spent time at West Central Cooperative and Heartland Co-op in senior leadership roles focused on grain origination. He also led multiple commercial business platforms in the ethanol sector in various senior management positions for Louis Dreyfus Company.

An Iowa native, Nelson earned his degree at Iowa State University and is the owner / operator of Nelson Farms and Taylor Made Show Lambs in Dallas County, Iowa, and has stayed close to his agrarian roots throughout his life.
